Some people seem special. A vibe, an energy, and a strong sense of self. You can see who they are, and you want to find out more. And that is what you want.
If you are floundering in life or your career, your sense of self becomes diluted. Your own special gift loses its luster, it looks dry and grey. You begin to believe that this is you. It's not.
It just needs a good shaking, dusted off and lipstick applied. [visual picture of stunning, lucious red lips.]
Outside influences can set you on a path you never intended - whether it is good or bad - and you feel held back. Finding the strength to push on and push out of the mire seems way too hard.
Getting back that sense of who you are is worth the hard work. Finding it again, in all its glory, will give you clarity on what makes you unique: what you offer the world.
Your unique gift will shine and people will see it. It will become your brand story. A compelling brand story that fills you with the drive you to connect, and work with the right people.
So, are you ready? Maybe yes, maybe no, maybe not yet or not quite…just maybe! That's ok too.
Like the Māori proverb on my landing page - Ka mua, ka muri - looking back to move forward - if you don't know where you've come from you won’t know where you are going.
As a first step, reflect on last year and see what you achieved. I think you'll be surprised at all those success, big and small, you had in 2022! It will help you become more clear on who you are and what you offer.
Procrastinating is easy: taking the next step is not. It's intimidating and your brain will be whirling away with those Yeah Nah thoughts.
Here’s something that could help.
Write down all the little victories you had last year on a day-to-day basis. Seeing them in black and white will remind you of what you actucally did and achieved last year. Look at the whole year. See, there is lots to be thankful for. It might not have gone exactly as you hoped, you still learned something. You expanded your horizon and added a new skills.
Here’s how you could review your year:
- Make a list: a year is a long time and it’s easy to forget everything you’ve achieved. Don't downplay the little things as often they are what has helped you to grow.
- Crack open the champers: wins, be they big or small, are something to be proud of so celebrate them. It's hard out there and COVID has knocked us for six. Get up, dust yourself off and toast yourself.
- Mistakes and failures: learn from them, let them go and move on.
- Your next move: create a game plan, set your goals, and go for it!
